ages and names (if you feel comfortable)Michael II 15y/o and going
to CA), Matthew (13y/o homeschooling 7th grade)
3) How many years you
have homeschooled-This is our 3rd year. I did homeschool Michael the
last 2 years.
4) What you love about homeschooling-Prior to homeschooling,
I worked a lot (nurse).I love having this extra time with my boys!
They are growing up fast! They loved all the extra time with Mom!
The boys loved getting finished with school so quickly. I love being
able to customize their school to their learning style. Mostly I just
loved having more time with my boys and getting to know them better.
5) What you hate about homeschooling-trying to motivate my boys on
the subjects they dislike. And feeling inadequate. Maybe I should
have done something differently?? I started kind of late in their
education. They attended AWS for many years!
6) Do you have a business
or interest you delve in on the side?-I am a Creative Memories consultant.
I love teaching others how to make their own memory (photo) albums.
My boys love our homeschool yearbook too!
7) Your pet's name or most
interesting animal you have ever owned?
8) Your favorite color-no one
color, I love yellow, green, pink, red, blue....
9) How would you describe
your homeschool style?traditional with math & language. We are
more flexible with history, science and bible.
10) Schedules - thumbs
up or thumbs down? I will let you know how this year goes. I haven't
used a schedule in the past, but think it is a good idea. (to help
us stayed focused and get more done in the day.)

2) Your children's ages and names (if you feel
comfortable) Chris is 15 and in the 10th grade. He will be 16 on October
9. Heather is 9 and in the 4th grade. She will be 10 on Jan. 29.

How many years you have homeschooled This is our 8th year. I
homeschooled
Chris for kindergarten and 1st grade. Then Heather was born, and Chris
went to OAKS for 3 years. We started homeschooling again when Chris
reached the 5th grade. Heather has always been homeschooled.
4) What
you love about homeschooling Being able to go places and do things
with our family that we would not be able to do if the kids were in
school. I also love it when my kids learn a new concept and understand
it for the first time.
5) What you hate about homeschooling Mainly
alll the grading and
paperwork! Also trying to balance chores and
schoolwork - motivating the kids to get their work done quickly.

Do you have a business or interest you delve in on the side? I enjoy
scrapbooking immensely! For the past two years I have made a yearbook
for the kids. I also enjoy working with pathfinders and adventurers.
I like to sew and quilt when I find the time.
7) Your pet's name or
most interesting animal you have ever owned? We have a golden hamster
named Gigabyte (Chris named her: he loves computers!).

color I have always loved yellow
9) How would you describe your homeschool
style? More traditional.
10) Schedules - thumbs up or thumbs down?
Schedules are made to be changed!!!!! We have somewhat of a routine
that we go through each day. We have never been successful in implementing
a schedule. I'm sure that I would like it if we did.
